Farmers across Jigawa State have been called upon to adopt advice given by the Nigerian Metrological Agency about this year’s rainfall for better and timely cropping season.
In a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Dutse by the state’s chairman of the All Farmers Association (AFAN), Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga, the body reminds farmers that timely planting is the best option whenever there is an expectation of early rainfall.
“The All Farmers Association wish to inform the farmers that based on an advice received from the National Metrological Agency, there might be an early rainfall existence this season and farmers should plants their crops early so as to cope with the new down as advised by experts,” the statement said.
Furthermore, Jaga commended the Jigawa State government under the leadership of Governor Badaru Abubakar for facilitating agricultural production in the state which had been recognised by the farmers at both dry and rainfall seasons which is an excellent landmark achievement.
He assured the members of the association that AFAN would continue to give more enlightenment whenever there is an existing statement from all national agricultural researchers that are purely related to agribusiness in order to equip them with better knowledge of profitable production.
