Group commends foundation on poverty alleviation initiative in Delta

A United Nations endorsed civil society organizations based in Delta State with thematic areas on Sustainable Development Goals, Delta Cultural Initiative (DCI-Worldwide) has commended the poverty alleviation Initiative of the Chairman/Founder, Chief Ogheneovo Edewor Foundation, Chief Ogheneovo Edward for supporting the less-privileged across the country, which the group described as incomparable in Nigerian Civic space.

This was made known in press statement made available to newsmen by the Organization’s Director of Research, Statistics, Information, Communication, Media and Publicity, Comrade Mercy Okonkwo.

Okonkwo stated that Chief Edewor’s love for the support of the less privileged citizens is very uncommon in the Nigerian Society.

Okonkwo noted that DCI-Worldwide as a Non-profit organization poised to global partnership on grassroots development, and that is in partnership with a reputable company, Shock & DCI-Worldwide Enterprises to unravel, strengthen ties and encourage the Organization, groups individuals, Governments, Agencies, Multi-nationals working for the fulfilment of the 17 UN Substainable Development Goals (SDGs) towards societal growth and development.

The group said that as part of its mandate, her team in Delta State has documented, researched widely on the activities of Chief Ogheneovo Edewor’s Foundation, therefore, that DCI- Worldwide had decided to commend his efforts on the thematic areas of poverty alleviation, Community Services, Empowerment, Enhancement of Economic growth and Development for both Youths and Women in the rural areas to enable him do more for Deltans, Nigerians Africans and the rest of the World, Daily Times reported.

The press statement reads in parts: “We Commend those Organizations, individuals both State and non-State actors, especially Chief Ogheneovo Edewor’s Foundation on exploits in SDGs 1&2 towards deepening of the Foundation’s poverty alleviation Initiative, Chief Edewor’s support of Youths in the area of given scholarships to indigent students of Delta, Nigerian origin, Women empowerment and development as well as Support to the physically challenged Community across the 25 LGAs of Delta state, and Nigeria in general”.
