Governors, deputies to receive COVID-19 vaccines March 9

Governors of the thirty-six states and their deputies have agreed to take their vaccines on March 9.

They reached the agreement at a virtual meeting held Thursday and presided over by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and Ekiti helmsman, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

The governors adopted the guidelines produced by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).

They reiterated that the front-line healthcare workers and the elderly would be the first to take the vaccines. They resolved to sensitise the populace on the need for vaccines and their safety for people above 18 years.

According to the communiqué, the governor assured of protecting the efficacy of the vaccines.

“The state governors commit to working with the FG to ensure required cold Chain set up, trained personnel and security of the vaccine rollout is in place.

“Citizens are encouraged to use the e-registration portal on the NPHCDA website.”
