Gov Uzodimma, German firm sign MoU on clean environment

Imo State Government and a German firm, Eastern Waste Management Company Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on achieving a clean, hygienic, and environmentally-friendly state through proper waste collection and recycling.

The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday in Owerri, Imo State capital. Cosmos Iwu and Majority Emenike, signed the contract on behalf of the state government, while the Managing Director, Njoku Cyril and Agbi Isimeme, signed for the German company.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Hope Uzodimma noted that his government’s agreement with the German corporation aims to guarantee a clean and hygienic environment for the Imo people.

According to the governor, his administration signed the agreement with the German corporation based on its performance history.

It will be recalled that in 2018, the state government enact Private Public Partnership Law No. 11, which allows it to collaborate with private businesses to maximize prospects for individuals.

Governor Uzodimma selected EWMCL to bring cleanliness and job creation to Imo State, emphasizing the government’s need to find partners with proven track records of success.
