Gov Abdulrazaq tours 1,500 hectares soybean farms in Kwara

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has visited and toured Kwara Youth Farm, a 1500 hectares soybeans plantation to assess the impact of recent agricultural inputs distributed by the government.

NatureNews report that the state government has recently distributed farm inputs to 10,000 farmers across all sixteen local governments, aiming to boost productivity and food security.

Members of the state executive council, led by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Toyosi Thomas-Adebayo, also embarked on rice farm tour on in Edu and Patigi local government areas of the state on Monday.

The governor’s team rice farm tour aim to ensure that state seedlings, fertilizers, and other inputs distributed among farmers in the area are effectively utilized.

It was gathered that the governor’s team will soon embark on similar inspection to Kaiama and other regions to evaluate maize and soybeans farmlands.

While in Edu, the governor team expressed satisfaction with the farmers’ commitment and the effective use of resources.

Local farmers praised the governor’s support, citing significant benefits from interventions like the Dukulade Irrigation Scheme and the provision of essential farming materials.

While on the inspection tour of the soybeans in Malete area of the state, Governor Abdulrazaq assured continued support to farmers across the state to further enhance agricultural productivity.
