GAC motors develops hydrogen-fuel engine for carbon neutrality target

In its quest to leverage on technology and the environment, GAC Group introduced its Mega Waves Hybrid Modular Architecture and unveiled its 1.5L hydrogen-fueled engine for the first time.

The hydrogen engine features a hydrogen consumption of 0.84kg/100km. Both technologies will serve as key solutions in the company’s efforts to reach carbon neutrality.

Reveal of the hydrogen-powered MPV concept car SPACE also took place. The car’s cutting-edge design, inspired by Chinese architecture, embraces the vision of a better life through new technology and echoes GAC’s pursuit of innovation.

The launch was on June 28 as GAC Tech day was held at GAC R&D Center.

GAC GROUP also launched its new-generation super iron lithium battery built on microcrystalline technology (SmLFP), which provides batteries with 13.5% higher cell quality energy density and 20% greater volume energy density than regular mass-produced iron phosphate lithium battery cells available on the market.

Also, recently, a powerful and smart SUV from GAC MOTOR, ALL NEW GS4, has been added to the brand’s vehicle lineup in Nigeria on July 7.

The new generation ALL NEW GS4 is a modern, dynamic and technology-focused model. The car launch took place on the same day as the grand opening of GAC MOTOR’s ultra-modern showroom in the capital city of Lagos.

In Lagos’ brand new G- Style showroom, Diana Chan, chairman of GAC MOTOR’s Nigerian franchise holder CIG Motors, expressed delight in the night’s success and revealed the further plans from GAC MOTOR in the country. “We are so proud to open our showroom,” she said. “And we plan to open five of such facilities across the country.”

With its many upgraded features and compelling design language, the ALL NEW GS4 is expected to continue GAC MOTOR’s legacy of Chinese craftsmanship amongst Nigerian buyers.
