Food Prices Rose in July 2022-NBS

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reports that the cost of certain foods saw an increase during the month of July.
The announcement was included in the organization’s Selected Food Prices Watch Report for July 2022, which was distributed in Abuja on Monday.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the average cost of one kilogramme of white beans increased by 23.22 percent between July 2021 and July 2022, going from N444.21 to N547.38.
“The price increased by 2.09 percent from N536.17 in June 2022 to N547.38 in July 2022,” the author writes. “This represents a month-over-month increase.” It contributed.
According to another finding in the report, the cost of one kilogramme (or kilogrammes) of tomatoes experienced a year-over-year price increase of 7.71 percentage points, moving from N414.83 in July 2021 to N446.81 in July 2022.
The boneless one kilogramme of beef had an average price of N2,118.84 in July 2022, which represented a 27.58 percent increase from the previous July 2021 price of N1,660.76.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the average cost of a bottle of groundnut oil reached N1,078.17 in July 2022. This represents an increase of 40.24 percent when compared to the price of N768.81 in July 2021.
In addition, it was stated that the annual percentage increase in the price of one kilogramme of locally produced rice was 13.55 percent, with the price rising from N411.97 in July 2021 to N467.80 in July 2022.
The price of a single bottle of palm oil reached an average of N890.67 in July 2022, representing a rise of 40.19 percent when compared to the price of N635.31 that was recorded in July 2021.
State-by-
Analysis of the states revealed that the average price of one kilogramme of white beans in the month of July 2022 ranged from N317.73 in Borno to N900.51 in Ebonyi, with Ebonyi recording the highest price at N900.51. The lowest price was recorded in Borno at N317.73.
According to the report, the state of Edo had the highest recorded average price for one kilogramme of tomatoes at N799.16, while the state of Taraba had the lowest recorded average price at N159.14.
In a similar vein, Rivers recorded the highest price of N619.62 for one kilogramme of local rice, while Jigawa recorded the lowest price of N363.34 per kilogramme.
According to the results of an analysis that separated the country into zones, the Southeast recorded the highest average price of brown beans at N853.19 per kilogramme, followed by the Southwest at N598.00, and the Northeast recorded the lowest average price at N379.03.
The Northeast recorded the lowest price of tomato at N194.72 per kilogramme, while the Southeast recorded the highest average price of tomato at N678.80 per kilogramme. This was followed by the Northwest, which recorded an average price of N656.93 per kilogramme.
According to the NBS, the average cost of one kilogramme of locally produced rice in the Northwest was N796.03, making it the most expensive in July 2022. This was followed by Southwest, which had the lowest cost at N519.64.
According to the information provided, North Central recorded the lowest price for one kilogramme of local rice at N401.72.
