Fish oil`s health benefits

Fish oil is oil gotten from the tissues of oily fish which contain omega-3 fatty acids. It is basically obtained from oily fish such as herring, tuna, anchovies, and mackerel etc and sometimes gotten from the livers of some other fish like the cod liver oil.

Omega 3 fatty acids include the eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which are precursors of certain eicosanoids that are well known to reduce inflammation in the body.

Fish oil is one of the most commonly consumed dietary supplement with sufficient amount of omega-3 fatty acids, which are very important for the well being of individual. Eating fish provides the body with omega-3 fatty acids which comes with numerous health benefits, including protection against a number of diseases.

Fish oil helps to reduce the risks of heart diseases. It increases the level of good cholesterol known as high density lipoprotein thereby reducing the amount of bad cholesterol called low density lipoprotein. It reduces triglycerides and blood pressure and prevents plaque formation that causes the hardness of arteries.

Fish oil may help improve the brain function. Omega 3 fatty acids in fish oil help to prevent or decrease the risks of psychotic disorders and also reduce the symptoms of schizophrenia and other Brian related issues.

Omega 3 helps to improve the bone density thereby reducing the risks of bone diseases. It also gives support to early growth and development and support eye health.
