First aluminum ingots rolled out as Neveah begins production

Neveah Limited has commenced production at its new aluminum and copper recycling plant in Ogun State, Nigeria.

The plant, which has a processing capacity of 44,000 metric tons annually, produced its first set of aluminum ingots this week, achieving a purity level of 85.1 percent.

Neveah says the result signals strong early performance as the company prepares for full-scale operations in the coming days.

The $150 million facility is one of the most-advanced of its kind in West Africa and is built to meet global quality benchmarks.

Each aluminum and copper ingot is produced using high-precision instruments to ensure consistency, traceability, and compliance with international export requirements.

Neveah’s entry into the metals recycling space aligns with Nigeria’s push to grow non-oil exports and expand value-added manufacturing.

The company estimates the plant will generate over $150 million in annual export earnings once operating at full capacity.

It is also expected to create 500 direct and more than 6,000 indirect jobs, while cutting carbon emissions by over 377,000 tons each year.

Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ibidapo Lawal described the milestone as more than a production start, calling it “a glimpse into our future.”

He added that the company is “not just recycling, but redefining how Africa contributes to the global circular economy.”

Neveah’s operational growth has attracted international attention.

The company ranked first in the Metals & Mining category and 21st overall on the Financial Times’ 2025 list of Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies.

The new plant reinforces Neveah’s commitment to sustainable industrialization, responsible sourcing, and inclusive job creation in Nigeria.

As it ramps up to full production, the company says its focus will remain on delivering export-ready, premium-grade metals from recycled sources.

Neveah’s investment represents a critical shift in Nigeria’s industrial landscape, positioning recycled aluminum and copper as major contributors to national revenue and environmental resilience.
