Fire engulfs Mokland Hotel in Lagos

A hotel in Lagos, Mokland Hotel at number 3/9 Olakoleosho Street, Ikeja, has been destroyed in a fire accident.

Several properties were reported to have burnt into ashes but no life was lost in the process.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to Vanguard, the fire which emanated from the topmost Penthouse floor of the building, started at about 7pm.

Fire fighters of the Lagos State Fire Services are currently battling to put out the raging inferno but the cause of the fire is still unknown.

Spokesperson of the Lagos State Fire Services, Mr Amodu Shakiru, confirmed the incident saying Lagos rescue team is curtailing the fire from spreading to other floors and surrounding buildings.
