FG reveals plan on 5million solar home system installation

The Federal Government has revealed plan on making electricity available to unserved and underserved citizens through the installation of five million Solar Home System (SHS) and Mini-Grid across the country.
The permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Mr Nebeolisa Anako, in a statement disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday, NAN reports.
Anako also said the installation of the SHS would also generate 250,000 jobs to impact over 25 million beneficiaries across the two states.
Anako who spoke during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sokoto and Bauchi states on Electricity supply under the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Programme (NESP).

Speaking on Federal government’s effort on electricity, Anako, said the signing of the MoU was the Federal Government’s effort in improving electricity supply to rural and urban settlements in the country.
In his response, the Commissioner of Energy, Sokoto State, Mr. Aliyu Balarabe, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry for the signing of the MoU, added that Sokoto and Bauchi states would be the first to sign this tripartite MoU.
