Farmer’s Poultry, House Set Ablaze in Plateau State

By George George Idowu

In the Angwa Rukuba-Etoo Baba community of Jos, Plateau State, angry youths set fire to a farmer’s poultry farm and house following the alleged killing of a security guard.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to residents, the farmer’s property, including his home and vehicles, were engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to a neighbouring building.

The violence reportedly stemmed from accusations that the farmer’s son had fatally assaulted the security guard, whom he suspected of theft.

While firefighters and security personnel intervened to contain the situation, the state police command is actively addressing the unrest.

The incident underscores the urgent need for community intervention to prevent further escalation in the face of food insecurity currently ravaging the country.
