The Chief executive officer of NexGen energy, Mr Uka Ibe, has called for collaboration between stakeholders and professionals in dealing with the energy deficit in Nigeria.
Uka Ibe stated this while receiving executives and members of the Nigerian Institute of electrical and electronic engineers, the Ibadan chapter (NIEEE) who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Ibadan on Wednesday.
According to ibe, a renewable energy expert said that the challenges confronting the sector were so massive, adding that they could only be surmounted by the collaboration of stakeholders in the sector.

“We are looking at collaborative efforts where engineers and professionals in other disciplines like legal and finance will come together and look at things holistically.
“This is because we are not just looking at the issue of engineering but those that have to do with funding, contracting and trained manpower.
“So it will take a lot of collaborative efforts among professionals for us to be able to address the power problem in the country,” he said.
According to him, there are available grants, both locally and internationally, for people in the industry to increase access to electricity, especially in rural areas daily times reports
Ibe also said that more people could be trained to come into the industry so that there would be a lot of foot soldiers.
