EOS Data Analytics (EOSDA), provider of AI-powered satellite imagery analytics has analyzed the reports on the most expected trends in #AgriTech for 2022.
EOSDA in a publication on its website on Wednesday, noted that the disruptive pace of innovations in the #Agriculture industry is prompting farmers and organizations to quickly adapt to the changes.
As part of the changes to be observed, EOSDA analyzed 5 trends in 2022. They are:
1. Agricultural robots: Robots will make the biggest impacts with fruit harvesters and driverless tractors. Robots can also be used for weed control, sorting, packing, pruning and thinning.
2. Aerial imaging: More farmers will use aerial imagery to manage their crops.
3. Regenerative agriculture: Adoption of regenerative agriculture is as a result of climate change and weather volatility concerns. Scientists agree that this method majorly benefits soil and health and fertility.
4. IoT technology: Internet of Things (IoT) market will reach a value of $32.7 billion by 2027. IoT in agriculture ranges from drones usage to inspect or spray crops to smart green houses and smart sensors to increase yields.
5. Digital farming: Digital tools like EOS monitoring offer improve nutrient management and soil health. These technologies also identify how, where, and what to plant for the best yields, and avert shortages through supply management.
In achieving these trends, Rim Elijah, EOSDA VP of Sales, stated that the EOS Crop Monitoring allows a specialist to check and report whether there are problems with crops will help farmers.
‘’The fact that EOSDA achieved a 101% revenue growth in 2021 compared to the last year’s income shows that people are more actively taking up innovative technologies,’’ the report stated.
Explaining the benefits of EOS Crop Monitoring, the report further stated that in Africa, around 60% of the population is engaged in agriculture, mostly males.
However, introducing satellite-monitoring remote technology also gives women more opportunities to become heavily involved in the agro sector as only the Internet connection is needed to access fields’ analytics in a few clicks.
Such involvement could be achieved by educating the population about new technologies and giving them the necessary tools to implement tech-related initiatives that will result in both men and women becoming part of an active society engaged in agriculture.
Talking about EOSDA products distribution and the model to adopt, the report stated, ‘’We work mostly with local partners because they understand the region’s needs and usually come with a huge demand for our technology— ranging from hundreds and thousands to millions of hectares.
‘’Thus, the partnership distribution model is profitable for us, and it shall certainly be one of our key goals in 2022.
‘’We’re also expanding our sales department by 60% in 2022, adding more partnerships and sales specialists to spread the word about the satellite technology and our platforms.
‘’Another approach we use in terms of EOSDA products’ distribution is working directly with clients for custom projects without third-party mediation.’’
