Enyimba Economic City Power Plant Set For Commissioning

Enyimba Economic City Development Company FZE, developers of Enyimba Economic City, a 9,803 Hectares Greenfield Special Economic Zone in Abia State has stated that the first phase of its power plant is now set for commissioning.

The Enyimba Economic City and Geometric AIPP are jointly financed by the African Export Import Bank, Cairo, Egypt.

Geometric AIPP is the Bank’s recognised power partner for Enyimba Economic City, with which it has signed a 90MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the first phase of Economic City.

The project, it was learnt is being executed by the Abia State Government under the Made in Nigeria for Export (MINE) programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

It was also gathered that the Aba Integrated Power Project spans nine (9) local governments in the state, including the commercial and industrial city of Aba for the provision of 24/7 power supply.

It was further gathered that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will commission the first phase of project, which is 188 MW gas-powered generation plant in Osisioma, on Monday, February 26.
