The Enugu State government says it has concluded arrangement to distribute agricultural inputs to 2,000 poor and vulnerable farmers in all the 17 local government areas of the state.

He said that the inputs would be distributed in collaboration with the World Bank-assisted COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (CARES) programme.
Amoke listed the agricultural inputs to include cassava stem, rice seedlings, fertilisers and herbicides.
“The initiative is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and stimulating rural economy,” he said, adding that all the beneficiaries had been contacted accordingly.
The governor’s aide said that the inputs would get to the beneficiaries without any formal gathering or fanfare in order to ensure that the process was not hijacked by non-farmers.
