England: Burst pipe disrupts water supply in Lancashire

By Abdullahi Lukman

A burst water pipe has caused localised flooding and disrupted water supplies in parts of Bamber Bridge and Walton-le-Dale in Lancashire, affecting households and businesses.

United Utilities said the incident occurred on Brindle Road in Bamber Bridge and confirmed that engineers are working to repair the damage as quickly as possible. Customers in the surrounding areas have reported reduced water pressure as a result of the burst.

The company warned that the disturbance may also lead to discoloured water due to a build-up of sediment in the pipes. United Utilities said the issue is temporary and not harmful.

Residents experiencing cloudy or brown water have been advised to run their cold taps at a gentle trickle until the water clears, while repair work continues.
United Utilities said further updates would be provided as engineers work to restore normal service.
