Energy Commission to Promote Clean Cooking Awareness Across Nigeria’s Geopolitical Zones

By Faridat Salifu

In a bid to foster gender sensitization and encourage the adoption of clean cooking solutions, the government, through its commission, has unveiled plans to replicate a recent training program across all six geopolitical zones of the country.

During the closing ceremony of a two-day gender sensitization training held in Abuja, Director-General Abdullahi underscored the significance of reducing environmental degradation and enhancing the socio-economic well-being of women and their families.

Abdullahi reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to curbing carbon emissions and ensuring effective feedback mechanisms are in place to monitor the training’s impact. “This marks just the beginning,” stated Abdullahi.

“Our objective is to extend this sensitization training to every corner of the nation. We are dedicated to addressing carbon emissions and tackling energy challenges comprehensively.”

Originating as a pilot project with participants from Kurudu, the training initiative will now be expanded to encompass the entire nation.

The commission aims to gather feedback from participants to refine and enhance future training sessions.

Following the distribution of certificates of attendance, Mrs. Ikeme Chinwe, Deputy Director of the Engineer Training and Manpower Development Department, expressed appreciation to the commission’s DG and encouraged participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge effectively.

As the Energy Commission takes strides towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for all Nigerians, stay tuned for further developments in the promotion of clean cooking awareness across the nation’s geopolitical zones.
