Emir of Gombe advises farmers on food production, preservation

The Emir of Gombe, Alh Abubakar Shehu III, has called on farmers to engage in agriculture to accelerate crop production, promote food security and export of agricultural produce.

Abubakar, in a Sallah message, on Monday, said that Gombe was an agrarian state endowed with vast fertile land capable of producing large quantity of food to substantially cater for the food need of the state and the country at large.

“With this blessing our farmers can produce adequate food for local consumption and export,” he said.

The royal father admonished farmers/pastoralists to eschew violence and embrace dialogue in dispute resolution, adding that farmers and cattle breeders need each other,” he said.

Abubakar also enjoined Muslim faithful to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan by practicing what they learned.

“Be your brothers keepers by extending helping hands to the needy,” the emir urged Muslim.
