Egypt is stepping up efforts to attract Arab investment in its agricultural sector, with a focus on modernising production, supporting small farmers, and enhancing regional food security.
Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, held a high-level meeting on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with Ubaid Al-Zaabi, Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, and Ibrahim Al-Dukhairi, Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, for that purpose.
The meeting explored strategies to strengthen Arab partnerships in agriculture and unlock investment opportunities across the country.
Key areas of collaboration identified include livestock development, improving efficiency in veterinary vaccine production and supply, and providing support mechanisms for small-scale farmers and producers.
Discussions also highlighted opportunities in digital agriculture, mechanisation, and agricultural manufacturing, as well as potential partnerships with Egypt’s Agricultural Research Center to foster comprehensive sector development.
Minister Alaa Farouk stressed Egypt’s commitment to creating a favourable investment climate, offering full support and facilities for investors.
“Egypt’s agricultural sector is promising and full of investment opportunities across its diverse activities. The government is committed to removing any obstacles to Arab investment to strengthen our contribution to regional food security,” he said.
The meeting reflects Egypt’s ongoing strategy to integrate technology, modern farming practices, and regional collaboration to boost productivity and resilience in its agricultural sector, while enhancing its role as a hub for investment in food security.
