Moldavite is unique with fascinating and mysterious origin. It is believed to have been in existence for about 15 million years ago during a meteorite impact in southern Germany. With the pressure and intense heat emanating from the impact resulted to melting of surrounding rocks which leads to the formation of Moldavite. It originated in Czech Republic and named after River Moldau where it was first discovered.
Moldavite is a rare gemstone with limited occurrence in specific areas and is found in association with other minerals such as quartz, feldspar, and clay.
