Dangote Group has signed a contract valued at over $350 million with India’s state-owned.
Engineers India Limited (EIL) for the expansion of its refinery operations.
The agreement was disclosed by EIL in a statement released recently, confirming that the Indian engineering firm will act as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) as well as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) consultant for the expansion project
Under the deal, EIL will oversee project execution, coordinate engineering and procurement activities, and manage construction processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
The latest contract mirrors EIL’s earlier role in the development of the Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest single-train refinery with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. That facility was successfully delivered and commissioned in 2024, marking a major milestone for Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Industry observers say the renewed partnership underscores Dangote Group’s confidence in EIL’s technical expertise and project delivery track record. The expansion is also expected to further strengthen Nigeria’s refining capacity, reduce dependence on fuel imports, and enhance the country’s position in regional and global energy markets.
