Dangote Group, NatureNews, to Train Journalists on Environmental Sustainability Reporting

As part of efforts to build capacity and promote environmental awareness, the Dangote Group, in collaboration with Climate Africa Media Initiative & Centre (CAMIC) and NatureNews Africa, is set to conduct a two-day workshop to train journalists on reporting the environment for sustainability.

The Two-Day Environmental Journalism Workshop will take place from July 17th to 18th, 2023, at the Dangote Academy in Obajana, Kogi State.

The workshop revolves around the theme of “Reporting the Environment for Sustainability.”

The workshop will be facilitated by renowned professionals who will engage with the participants to enhance their understanding of the common objectives of environmental reporting.

The facilitators include Dr. Alim Abubakre, Chair of TEXEM UK; Mr. Aliu Akoshile, Editor-in-Chief of NatureNews Africa; and Mr. Taiwo Adebayo.

The environment has faced numerous challenges due to the impacts of climate change, affecting its inhabitants and residents. Human activities play a major role in depleting the environmental space, leading to issues such as flooding.
