Concern in Imo Zoo over alleged relocation of animals to Jos

By Yemi Olakitan

Pandemonium allegedly erupted at the Imo State Zoological Garden in Owerri due to the zoo’s animals being moved to Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Zoo employees stared helplessly as people who were allegedly from Jos grabbed the animals.

Some employees objected to the visitors’ efforts and complained that their salaries hadn’t been paid for ten months.

They questioned why the zoo, the only zoo in the southeast geopolitical zone, would be closed down without providing proper justifications from the relevant authorities.
