Buhari redeploys Mohammed Abdullahi as substantive Minister of Environment
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-deployment of Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi as the new Minister of Environment.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, in a statement on Wednesday said the redeployment takes effect from April 6, 2022.
The SGF said President Buhari expressed optimism that Mr. Abdullahi would bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new portfolio for growth of the country.
A lawyer and grassroots politician, Mr. Abdullahi served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Nasarawa State under Governor Abdullahi Adamu, the new National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He later served as Secretary to the State Government, SSG, under Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura from where he was appointed into the Federal Executive Council by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Earlier in his political career, Alhaji Abdullahi served as Chairman of Karu Local Government where he earned the enviable reputation for selfless service and accountability.
Before going into politics, he was the founding Partner of Tafida Chambers (Messrs Hammart & Co. Solicitors/Advocates) and was Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria, from 2000 to 2002.
An Alumnus of Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, Mr. Abdullahi is a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and was Company Secretary of Nasarawa Investment and Property Development Company.
