BUA Group has announced its expansion in packaging materials manufacturing. The expansion is in partnership with Austria’s Starlinger & Co. Limited.
The partnership aligns with BUA Group’s diversification strategy, enabling it to support its cement, sugar, and flour factories while preparing for future growth.
Under the partnership, BUA is expected to produce 600 million polypropylene (PP) block-bottom bags annually, catering to the growing demand for sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, underlined the importance of the venture during the signing ceremony in Dubai.
“As we focus on securing the future of our business through innovative investments, having our own packaging unit becomes imperative,” Rabiu stated.
He noted that the facility aims to set new standards in sustainability, quality, and cost-effectiveness, while enhancing operational efficiency.
Harald Neumuller, CEO of Starlinger & Co. Limited, expressed excitement about the collaboration.
“We are honored to collaborate with BUA Group, a distinguished conglomerate with remarkable achievements,” he said, adding, “This project reflects our commitment to delivering industrial packaging solutions tailored to BUA Group’s diverse operations.”
The venture is expected to boost BUA Group’s capability to meet internal and external packaging needs while reinforcing its position as an industry leader in Africa.
This latest investment, industry experts say, reflects BUA Group’s dedication to innovation and sustainability, setting a benchmark for industrial growth in Africa. END
