Nigeria Automobile Technical Association (NATA), Kwara branch, has appealed for inclusion of mechanic villages in new Ilorin Master Plan.
They appealed that at least six mechanic villages should be provided in various parts of Ilorin metropolis in the proposed Master Plan.
Chairman of the association, Alhaji Ayo Sekoni, who made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ilorin on Monday, said that the inclusion of the mechanic villages in the master plan would further help the physical planning of the state capital.
Sekoni said that the six mechanic villages created by the immediate past administration in various parts of the state capital, had either been encroached on or taken over by their original owners.
Sekoni noted that the only two functioning mechanic villages opposite Ilorin International Airport and Ganmo could not accommodate large number of members since part of the land had been encroached on.
The chairman appealed to the state government to create additional six mechanic villages in various parts of the metropolis to give automobile technicians sense of belonging.
