The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) has initiated the construction of a N280 million Abdul Samad Rabiu Integrated Publishing House at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Thursday.
Expressing his satisfaction, the Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola S. Tayo, praised ASR Africa for their support under its Tertiary Education Grant Scheme.
He highlighted that the project aligns with the university’s vision to elevate its Mass Communications Department, aiming to develop students into critical thinkers and innovative problem-solvers.
Dr. Ubon Udoh, Managing Director of ASR Africa, shared his enthusiasm for the university’s choice to establish an Integrated Publishing House.

Dr. Udoh also stressed the importance of collaboration between the university and the contractor for timely project completion.
Thus, the new facility will upgrade the university’s capabilities from a basic press to a modern, integrated publishing house, encompassing publishing, print production, and diversified services.
The one-storey building will also serve as a laboratory and studio for training students in communications, media studies, and related fields.
ASR Africa, founded by African industrialist and philanthropist Abdul Samad Rabiu, aims to provide sustainable solutions to developmental challenges in health, education, and social development across Africa.
