ASR Africa commissions ₦350m lecture theatre at ADSU Mubi

The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) has commissioned a 500-capacity lecture theatre worth ₦350 million at Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, under its Tertiary Education Grant Scheme.
The project also includes four functional boreholes for the university community, reinforcing ASR Africa’s mission to bridge educational infrastructure gaps across Nigerian universities and enhance learning environments.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of ADSU, Prof. Augustine Clement, commended ASR Africa and its Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, for their visionary philanthropy. He expressed gratitude for the timely intervention and assured that the facility would be put to immediate use to benefit both students and lecturers.
Managing Director of ASR Africa, Dr. Ubon Udoh, praised the university for fulfilling the necessary requirements to qualify for the grant. He emphasized that the commissioning reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to delivering on its promises to tertiary institutions across the country, citing Rabiu’s dedication to advancing education, healthcare, and social development.
Representing the ASR Africa Chairman, Dr. Idi Hong, Director of Government Relations, highlighted the significance of the project, describing it as a testament to Rabiu’s passion for education. He urged the university to sustain its academic excellence and contribute to national development.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, joined by Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, applauded ASR Africa’s contribution to education. He noted that the facility would enhance learning conditions, provide clean water, and expand the university’s capacity for large academic gatherings.
During ADSU’s combined 15th to 17th convocation, Abdul Samad Rabiu was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree in recognition of his notable philanthropic contributions to education and development in Nigeria.
Since its inception in 2021, the ASR Africa Tertiary Education Grant Scheme has supported more than 30 Nigerian universities with grants ranging from ₦250 million to ₦2 billion, delivering projects that promote impact, sustainability, and excellence.
