In a significant development, the African Development Bank (AfDB) is urging farmers to collaborate with the Northwest governors to enhance agriculture and leverage Advanced Agricultural Facilities for mutual benefit.
Facilitated by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), the interaction program forum aimed at enhancing agriculture, achieving food self-sufficiency, and fostering economic growth.
Brigadier General Halliru Akilu (rtd), the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the ACF in Kano State, passionately appealed for support during the event held on Tuesday, November 21.
He hailed this initiative as a transformative path for the North to reclaim its former agricultural glory by processing raw agricultural commodities in areas with high potential.
The ACF, through this initiative, is rallying communities in the 19 northern states to unite and endorse the program.
The overarching goal is to create job opportunities, effectively combating poverty and addressing deficiencies within Arewa communities.
This recent interactive session, hosted by the AfDB in Abidjan, provided a platform for governors of the Northwest zones to familiarize themselves with the plans aimed at revitalizing the northern region through the advancement of agriculture.
The initiative holds promising prospects for the agricultural sector and, by extension, the economic well-being of the communities involved.
