The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and Wastebanc, Nigeria’s Digital Trash Recycling Project, are collaborating to address the issue of waste disposal in Lagos State.
The collaboration aims to advance the company’s sustainability commitment to eliminate inappropriate waste disposal in the state.
Speaking at the Wastebanc launch in Lagos at Sterling Towers, the company’s Director of Digital Business and Innovations, Mohammed Yunusa, said the partnership aims to change the recycling landscape of Lagos State by utilizing cutting-edge technologies and mobile apps to address the pollution caused by plastic waste.
According to Yunusa, Wastebanc is an app that empowers individuals, businesses, and communities to engage in recycling while preserving the planet’s future, offering a user-friendly interface and innovative waste management methods.
Speaking, LAWMA’s Managing Director, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, expressed excitement over the partnership with Alternative Bank and the Wastebanc app.
He said the partnership aims to promote responsible waste management practices and environmental consciousness in Lagos.
