The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has unveiled a lineup of high-level side events at the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, running from November 10 to 21, 2025.

The events are designed to advance global climate action, strengthen partnerships, and accelerate the implementation of national commitments toward a sustainable, low-carbon future.

On November 10, activities began with the launch of the Atlas of Liberia Natural Capital, highlighting Liberia’s rich environmental heritage, followed by discussions on climate resilience and WASH services for vulnerable communities.

A high-level roundtable on digital transformation and sustainability also marked the first day, building on the COP29 Declaration on Green Digital Action.

Subsequent sessions explore critical issues such as loss and damage response systems, green digital futures, and climate finance for fragile nations.

UNDP will also host dialogues on youth inclusion, gender equality, forest finance, and renewable energy, engaging partners from governments, civil society, and the private sector.

Highlights include the launch of the call for funding requests under the Barbados Implementation Modalities, the unveiling of Somalia’s LT-LEDS roadmap, the Rwanda Green Fund biodiversity window, and the Africa Climate Action Programme.

These sessions emphasize the need for collaborative action, digital innovation, and equitable access to finance in addressing climate challenges.

By facilitating diverse discussions — from sustainable mining and energy access in Liberia to youth-driven climate policies and women’s leadership in Ukraine’s energy transition — UNDP reinforces its commitment to inclusive, impactful, and globally coordinated climate solutions.

As COP30 progresses, these side events serve as vital platforms for translating climate pledges into tangible results that align with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
