President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Chukwuemeka Woke, as the new Managing Directoe/Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority.
NatureNews can authoritatively report that the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, one of the 12 River Basin Authority in the country, play a crucial role in the mangagement and develoment of water resources within its jurisdiction covering parts of Ogun, Oyo and Osun States in Southwest geo-polical zone of the country.
As CEO Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Emeka Woke is expected to spearhead initiatives aimed at harnessing the region’s waterresources for agricultural, industrial and environmental purposes, while also ensuring sustainable water mangement practices.
Engr. Woke is described by the presidency as a seasoned engineer and politician. He had served as Chairman of Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State and was Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, for many years.
President Tinubu expects the new Managing Director of the Ogun Osun River Basin Authority to discharge his duties with integrity and conformity with hihgest standard of transparency, while working at harnessing and developing water resource potential of the geographical area, as well as ensutrin that the Authority is a channel for holistic and integrated industrial, agricultural, and community development.
