Rosemary is well known for its fragrance and is mostly used as a condiment in food, in making body perfumes and for it’s health benefits.
It is an evergreen herb from the mint family Lamiaceae. Aside used in dishes as spice, it is equally a source of vitamins, iron and calcium.
Rosemary extracts are used to ease a lot of gastrointestinal problems such as constipation, indigestion, stomach aches and bloats.
Rosemary contains anti-inflammatory and anti oxidative properties which helps to boost the immune system as well as in neutralizing harmful particles in the body.
Research shows that some compounds in Rosemary tea help to protect the brain by preventing ageing and death of brain cells and can help in the protection of other neurological diseases.
The acids in Rosemary plant (carnosic and rosmarinic) acids in Rosemary have antifungal, antiviral and anti bacterial properties which boosts the immune system as well as help to fight infections.
Phytochemicals present in Rosemary can help in the overall health improvement. It may improve the overall eye health, regulation of liver function and lower the risk of ashma.
Rosemary tea is equally known for its diuretic properties used in diets for weight loss and reduction of retained fluids in the system.
