The Rivers State Network of NGOs (RINNGOS) has called for the passage of Rivers State Climate Change Bill and the assent of environmental protection amendment Bill by the state governor, Gov. Nyesom Wike.
Dr Mina Ogbanga, RINNGOS president made this call on Monday while reacting to the United Nations General Assembly’s declaration of clean air as human right.
She said the passage of these 2 critical bills will indeed show Rivers state as taking the lead in ensuring quality air for its citizens being the first State to ensure full domestication.
She also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for assenting to the National Council for Social Work Bill 2022.
She said a statement from the Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW) has also applauded Buhari, stating that the law would strengthen social work practice in Nigeria.
Mashood Mustapha, President of the Association, who signed the statement, noted that the law will help to legalise social work practice through an act of parliament in the nation.
