Mwasalat, a subsidiary of Asyad Group, has entered into a strategic cooperation with Birba to provide hydrogen-powered transportation for the upcoming Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO 2025), scheduled to take place in Muscat from December 1 to 3, 2025.

This initiative is part of Oman’s broader vision to achieve carbon neutrality and marks a significant step in advancing sustainable and smart mobility solutions in the Sultanate.

The hydrogen vehicles to be used during the summit will be powered using green hydrogen supplied by Shell’s hydrogen production station.

This collaboration underscores Oman’s commitment to clean energy innovation and serves as a practical demonstration of the nation’s investment in sustainable infrastructure.

By integrating hydrogen-fueled transport into a major international event, Oman positions itself at the forefront of clean energy transition in the Gulf and beyond.

GHSO 2025, now in its fourth edition, is regarded as one of the region’s most influential platforms for clean energy discourse.

The event is being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and is organized by Birba Energy Services in strategic partnership with Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom), the national body leading the charge in green hydrogen development.

The summit is expected to draw more than 3,000 participants from around the world, including key decision-makers, investors, developers, and research institutions.

The growing international attention reflects Oman’s emerging role as a clean energy powerhouse and regional hydrogen hub.

Dr. Firas bin Ali Al-Abdwani, Director General of Renewable Energy and Hydrogen at the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, emphasized the importance of the summit in showcasing Oman’s green hydrogen capabilities and dedication to carbon neutrality.

He stated that low-emission hydrogen, particularly green hydrogen, is central to the country’s sustainable future.

According to him, Oman is strategically positioned to succeed with more than 50,000 square kilometers designated for hydrogen projects, supported by existing infrastructure such as ports and its geographic advantage connecting major global markets.

The adoption of hydrogen-fueled transport during GHSO 2025 is not only symbolic but also functional, offering a tangible example of how clean energy can be incorporated into national events.

It reflects the alignment between public and private sector efforts in Oman to create a resilient, diversified, and environmentally responsible energy economy.

The move strengthens the Sultanate’s global image as a clean energy leader and reinforces its ambition to be a net exporter of hydrogen, aligning with global decarbonization goals and energy transition imperatives.
