Ogun State is set to site a major aluminium and copper recycling plant in Mowe, projected to generate over $150 million annually and create more than 500 jobs.
The project, yo be handled by Neveah Ltd, was announced following a meeting between Governor Dapo Abiodun and the company’s CEO, Ibidapo Lawal.
According to Lawal, the recycling facility will focus on processing aluminium scraps from car engines, cans, and other metals into high-grade ADC 12, a product in high demand among car manufacturers in countries like Japan and Indonesia.
Originally planned for Northern Nigeria, the project was relocated to Ogun due to its strategic advantages, including proximity to key ports such as Apapa, Tincan, and Lekki, access to affordable gas, reliable road networks, and a skilled workforce.
Governor Abiodun welcomed the investment, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that drive industrialization and create job opportunities across the state.
He said the project aligns with Ogun’s vision of becoming a leading industrial hub in Nigeria.
