Nutrition, health services benefit 5.7m adolescents in Kaduna

Kaduna State Government has disclosed that over 5.7 million adolescent residing in the state has had benefitted from the state Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRIN) project.

The project director, Malam Mohammed lbrahim disclosed this explaining that the initiation place at 11 local government areas in the state while it was implemented by the Society for Family Health (SFH) under the leadership of Project Director Malam Mohammed-Murtala Ibrahim.

The success of the ANRIN project was recently presented to the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Bamalli, who plays a pivotal role as the state’s Nutrition Ambassador.

During the presentation, Ibrahim highlighted the crucial impact of the Emir’s endorsement on the project’s community acceptance and effectiveness.

He stressed the need for the Emir’s continued support to ensure the sustainability of the program.

The ANRIN project, executed by SFH as a non-state actor, focuses on increasing access to and utilization of integrated community-based nutrition and adolescent health services.

The primary beneficiaries include children under five, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls.

Emir Bamalli expressed his unwavering support for the ANRIN project and its future endeavors.

He also called on the government and other stakeholders to implement additional measures to enhance access to quality and affordable healthcare services across Kaduna State.

This substantial progress in Kaduna underscores the vital role of community and leadership collaboration in advancing public health initiatives.

The ANRIN project continues to be a beacon of hope for improving nutrition and health outcomes in the region.
