The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast thundery and rainy weather across the country from Monday to Wednesday.
On Sunday, NiMet’s weather outlook predicted morning thunderstorms in parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Kaduna, with thunderstorms expected later in the day in parts of Taraba, Kaduna, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Bauchi, and Jigawa.
In the North-Central region, rains are anticipated in Abuja, Niger, and Nasarawa states during the morning, with thunderstorms and rains fexpected later in the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Plateau, and Kogi.
In the South, morning drizzle and rains are expected in parts of Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River, with intermittent rains expected in the afternoon and evening.
For Tuesday, NiMet predicts morning thunderstorms in Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa, with thunderstorms continuing later in Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, and Jigawa.
In the North-Central region, morning rains are expected in Abuja, Benue, and Kogi, with thunderstorms and rains anticipated later in Abuja, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue.
In the South, morning rains are forecast for parts of Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom, with thunderstorms and intermittent rains expected in the afternoon and evening.
For Wednesday, NiMet expects morning thunderstorms in parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara, with thunderstorms continuing throughout the day across the region.
In the North-Central region, morning rains are anticipated in Niger and Kwara states, with thunderstorms and rains expected later in Plateau, Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, Kwara, and Benue
In the South, morning rains are forecast for parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom, with intermittent rains expected in the afternoon and evening.
NiMet advises airline operators to obtain updated weather reports and forecasts to effectively plan their operations.
