Nigerians reject Covid-19 vaccine

Covid-19, a member of the coronavirus family, reared it’s ugly head from Wuhan, China on 31st of December, 2019.
Lots of human lives have been lost and many who survived are hysterical.
The virus affects different people in different ways.

While some infected people develop mild to ilness and recover without hospitalization. It’s symptoms range from fever, dry cough, tiredness to difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain and loss of speech or movement.
On average, it takes about 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show. However it can take up to 14 days, which is why people who have Covid-like symptoms are advised to self-isolate for 14 days.
Up until late 2020, there had not been any kind of defined treatment or preventive measures except maintenance of proper hygiene and the use of nose marks.
On November 9, 2020, BioNTech and Pfizer announced that 43,500 people in six countries had got a test vaccine against Covid-19 and the clinical trials had more than 90 percent effectiveness.
The vaccine has been approved by Canada, United Kingdom and the United States and is being distributed to other countries.
Nigeria has signed up with the Global Vaccine Alliance Initiative (Gavi) for access to vaccines and is expecting its first Covid-19 vaccine shipment in January 2021.
The question on the minds of the people is if the vaccine is safe to be received considering the short period it was developed and adverse reactions to the vaccine reported by people.
This which encouraged NatureNews to conduct an opinion poll on whether or not the vaccine should be accepted by Nigerians. The results are as follows:
Yes 42%
No 50%
Neutral 8%
Based on the above, it could be said Nigerians have rejected Covid-19 vaccine.
