In a resounding call to action, Prof. Aliyu Jauro, the Director General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), has implored both citizens and organizations across states to wholeheartedly embrace established environmental regulations as a means to safeguard our precious environment.
The clarion call came recently on the heels of a momentous occasion where Prof. Jauro and NESREA were honored at the Nigeria GovTech Awards, a prestigious event orchestrated by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, which took place in the heart of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.
During the recent event, the Director General expressed his elation at receiving the esteemed accolades. NESREA was recognized with the award for the “Best Federal MDA in the Use of Environmental Sustainable Technology Implementation” in the nation, while Prof. Jauro was bestowed with the “Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award” for his exceptional leadership.
These awards are not merely trophies; they stand as testament to the unwavering commitment of NESREA and its leader in the ongoing battle against environmental transgressions. Prof. Jauro articulated the agency’s determination, stating, “I assure Nigerians that NESREA would never tolerate any infractions on the environment, and the agency remains committed to enforcing all environmental regulations without bias or exception.”
In a world where environmental concerns loom large, NESREA and Prof. Jauro’s dedication to the cause serves as a beacon of hope for a greener, more sustainable future for Nigeria and the world at large.
