NatureNews, Africa’s No. 1 newspaper focused on Climate Change, Environment and sustainability has been acknowledged for its exceptional contributions toward advancing both food security and environmental sustainability in Nigeria.
This prestigious accolade stems from an initiative led by the NGO, FarmingFarmersFarms, in collaboration with Prime Progress and JCM.
The recognition formed an integral part of the National Conference on Agricultural Journalism, themed “Agricultural Journalism in Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects,” which was held between August 31 2023 and September 1, 2023 at the conference hall of Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja.
Caroline Ajoko, Secretary of the National Conference Planning Committee, expounded on the reasons behind honoring NatureNews.
According to her, “the newspaper has been unwavering in its commitment to fostering agriculture and bolstering food security, while maintaining a distinct focus on environmental issues and climate change. Remarkably, NatureNews has carved out a unique niche for itself in a relatively short span of operation.”
NatureNews stands as a paramount gateway to attaining environmental sustainability and has consistently provided invaluable insights into the needs and challenges faced by farmers.
Ajoko extended heartfelt congratulations to the management of NatureNews for their innovative and progressive efforts in establishing a platform for developmental journalism.
