NatureNews publisher hails Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Adamu @59

The publisher of NatureNews Africa and ClimateAfrica, Aliu Akoshile has hailed Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu, present Minister of Water Resources.

In his goodwill message on Tuesday, Akoshile described the Minister as a thoroughbred professional and a conscientious public officer.

He also acknowledged the minister’s continuous efforts in being part of the quest to promote healthy environment in Nigeria.

He prayed for more fruitful years to be added in his life.

Engr. Adamu is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Member of the American Society of Engineers (MASCE) and also Council Member of both COREN (Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria) and ACEN (Association of Consulting Engineers of Nigeria).

He has nearly 30 years of professional experience out of which 7 years were spent in the public sector.

Born in 1963, in Kaduna, he graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University in 1984 and was the winner of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) prize for the best final year student in Civil Engineering, 1984. He bagged his Maters in Project Management from University of Reading, UK in 2004.

His work experience between 1999 and 2015 includes as the Managing Director of IEA and as Project Director and Team Leader responsible for the planning, resource allocation, quality assurance and control, in the implementation of several projects in water engineering, land swap, infrastructure development and preparation of feasibility study and report for a number of clients that include several states, the federal government and the FCT.

He was a member of the Planning Committee, Sokoto Caliphate Bicentennial Anniversary; Former member, Governing Board of National Board for Technical Education and Chairman of the Physical Planning Committee. He was the Captain of Kaduna Golf Club (2014 – 2015). He is the Danburam of Kazaure in Jigawa State and Member, Kazaure Emirate Council, Jigawa State.

Among his achievement as a minister include, the launching of the Medium & Long term Strategic Documents for Water Sector tagged: the Roadmap (2016 – 2030); the National Water Resources Policy approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and the Water Resources Bill approved by FEC and transmitted to the National Assembly to Enact into Law.
