Morocco restricts movement as COVID-19 cases rise

By Bisola Adeyemo

As part of efforts to reduce the rate of COVID-19 in Morocco, the prime minister has announced that there would be restriction of movement in Marrakesh, Casablanca and Agadir areas.

He further noted that those with a vaccination passport or medical emergencies will be exempted from the restrictions.

The statement also said the curfew would begin Tuesday night and would last from 21:00 to 05:00 local time, BBC reports.

NatureNews recall that Morocco – along with other countries in North Africa – has seen an alarming rise in Covid-19 infections – mainly from the Delta variant – in the past few weeks.
