Liberia’s head of immunisation, Adolphus Clarke, has said that Liberia men are turning up in great numbers taking COVID-19 jabs more than the women.

Health authorities in Liberia have expressed concern over the low uptake of Covid-19 vaccines among women, saying the reason would be to investigate.

Adolphus Clarke, expressed his concern on Friday while speaking with BBC.

He said “To date, we realise that of the 16,821 persons that have been vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine, 11,098 are male and 5,723 are female.”

He said they noticed the same difference in those vaccinated by the AstraZeneca vaccines.

On Thursday, Liberia Health Minister Wilhelmina Jallah announced he was seeing some success in the fight against COVID-19.

She told a news conference that treatment centres only had “a few patients” who were set to be discharged.
