Meier Energy has become a leader in Morocco’s green technology industry in just four years, establishing itself as a major force in the global movement towards energy efficiency.
Fouad El Kohen founded the business in 2020, and since then, it has quickly gained a reputation for providing creative, customized solutions to support companies as they make the energy shift.
Meier Energy has succeeded in Morocco and is expanding into foreign markets.
Meier Energy’s dedication to promoting the ecological transition in Morocco and throughout Africa is at the heart of its purpose.
The company specializes in creating smart grid equipment and energy-efficient solutions that lower energy usage and enhance enterprises’ overall energy efficiency. High-precision measuring sensors for photovoltaic power plants, which track energy usage and help businesses manage their operations, are among the company’s trademark products.
According to CEO Fouad El Kohen, “We are a young company dedicated to the development and marketing of energy efficiency, electricity, and smart grid equipment. Our goal is to assist Morocco and Africa in their ecological transitions.”
Meier Energy helps businesses deal with the challenges of energy transition by providing decision support as part of its services. The company’s main market in Morocco is small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), therefore this support is especially beneficial to them.
Although the nation has a highly qualified labour force, El Kohen notes that the demand for energy solutions has not yet been met by public initiatives, which makes this industry ready for expansion.
At the late February OLAIRE EXPO MAROC 2024 in Casablanca, Meier Energy’s ingenuity was on full display. There, the business debuted the SM4000 weather station datalogger, its newest offering.
This innovative gadget works with monitoring systems that employ the Modbus protocol and is made for photovoltaic installations of various sizes. This product is a perfect example of Meier Energy’s commitment to developing adaptable and scalable solutions that meet the many demands of the renewable energy industry.
Along with its achievements within its own country, Meier Energy is growing internationally.
An important stage in the company’s European expansion strategy was the opening of a branch in Barcelona in 2023. El Kohen claims that Meier Energy is aiming to reach not only the European market but also the Middle East and Latin America, and that the European market is becoming more responsive to its products.
The company’s goal is clear: to expand internationally and establish energy efficiency as a worldwide norm, even as it keeps its activities in sub-Saharan Africa under wraps.
At the moment, Morocco accounts for 80 percent of Meier Energy’s sales, with exports accounting for the remaining 20 percent. El Kohen, on the other hand, wants to turn this ratio around and establish the business as a significant force in the global green technology sector.
The Moroccan government has taken note of Meier Energy’s achievements. The company was chosen to participate in a Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investment and Exports-sponsored incubation program for SMEs in July 2023.
The program’s goal is to help emerging exporters navigate global marketplaces. Meier Energy will get a lot of assistance under this program as it looks to boost exports over the next two years.
El Kohen, who has worked in the energy industry for more than 20 years, is optimistic that Meier Energy’s growth trajectory will continue as the demand for sustainable energy solutions increases globally. Finding clients in Europe is now simpler.
“Latin America and the Middle East are among the other markets we are aiming for,” he said.
Meier Energy is well-positioned to play a major role in the global energy transition thanks to its wide range of products and dedication to innovation.
Meier Energy is a part of a larger movement that is influencing the direction of energy, not merely a firm that produces energy-saving devices.
Electricity will grow more plentiful and more reasonably priced as the globe continues to transition to renewable energy sources, and it has the potential to displace fossil fuels in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing and transportation.
Nevertheless, as technology develops, more complex instruments will be required to control and monitor energy. Power quality problems can be caused by non-linear components that are crucial to renewable energy systems, such as switching power supplies, inverters, and chargers.
Both the larger grid and end users’ devices may be impacted by these variations. By creating solutions that measure and monitor power quality, Meier Energy is tackling these issues head-on and assisting utilities and companies in maintaining stability in a world that is becoming more and more electrified.
Meier Energy’s ambition remains unwavering as it broadens its scope and creates innovative energy-saving solutions: to be a key player in the global energy transition.
Meier Energy is not only satisfying the demands of today’s businesses but also contributing to the creation of a cleaner, greener future for generations to come with its innovative products and dedication to sustainability.
Morocco, Africa, and beyond may benefit greatly from green technology, as demonstrated by Meier Energy’s path. With innovation at its heart, the company is demonstrating that environmentally friendly business methods are not only essential, but also an excellent choice for 21st-century company expansion.
