The Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has express readiness to include 30 communities in its development plans.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako, who explained that through Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, the ministry has prepare local/ action plans for the communities.
Punch report that the Assistant Director, Public Affairs, Mukaila Sanusi, on Friday, said the action is aimed at including all communities into Lagos development plans.
Some of the communities whose local/ action plans are prepared, include, Abule Oja Action Area Plan (2021-2031), Lafiaji Action Area Plan (2021-2031) in Eko District, Ajiwe Action Area Plan (2021-2031), Review of Maiyegun and Action Area Plan of an Extension to Aparakaja Casia/Abiodun Dada.
Other communities which the ministry also reviewed were Igbogbo Core Action Area Plan and Ologunebi Excised Village Action Area Plan as well as Shasha Oguntade Action Area Plan and Ladipo Osoro Action Area Plan, Ojodu Core Action Area Plan and prepared Ilo Awela Community Action Area Plan, among others.
The Commissioner revealed that a lot will be achieved from the preparation of the action area plans, which include functional land use pattern and arrangements, good road networks while urban regeneration of the slum environment, the effective control and proper development guide within its jurisdiction.
Salako said the communities will also benefit the following; commercial, institutional and residential, the provision of enabling environment for category of land uses such as industrial, as well as investments in a sustainable manner.
