Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina State, emphasized that agriculture would serve as a crucial driver of economic revitalization during his administration, given its significant potential.
This statement was made by Radda in Abuja, where he hosted Mr. Jacob Ahise, the Executive Director of Union Bank Plc, and
representatives from the TGI Group at the Katsina State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro.
In a statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Radda, it was mentioned that the Governor expressed his satisfaction with the separate visits of the Union Bank and TGI Group delegations.
Radda stressed that agriculture would receive considerable attention from his government, as it is a fundamental aspect that would accelerate the economic growth and social development of Katsina.
Radda highlighted that agriculture would play a crucial role in job creation, income generation for farmers and other stakeholders, and ultimately contribute to food security. The TGI Group, known as a prominent agro conglomerate and one of the largest purchasers of agricultural commodities in the country, was also acknowledged in the statement.
Furthermore, Radda assured both Union Bank and the TGI Group of the Katsina State government’s desire to establish a mutually beneficial partnership with them. The purpose of the Union Bank’s visit, as mentioned by Mr. Ahise, was to discuss and explore avenues for financial support that could enhance agriculture in the state.
Alh. Gumel, the leader of the TGI Group, echoed a similar sentiment, stating that their objective was to brainstorm ways in which their company could support small-scale farmers and foster agricultural growth in Katsina State.
