The Environmental and Sanitation Club of Government College Day Wind Katsina recently embarked on a meaningful endeavor to deepen environmental awareness by visiting the Katsina State Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project.
Under the leadership of the dedicated Muhammad Lawal, the club members explored the innovative techniques and technologies employed by the Katsina State ACReSAL project to address the challenges posed by semi-arid climates.
The visit served as an enlightening experience, providing insights into climate-smart farming practices, drought-resistant crops, and effective water management strategies.
Through interactive discussions, the club members gleaned valuable insights into the importance of community engagement in driving sustainable development initiatives.
Their alignment with ACReSAL’s focus on biodiversity conservation and the utilization of native plant species for soil fertility enhancement further ignited their enthusiasm for promoting environmental diversity and sustainability.
Alhaji Halliru Mohammed, the Project Coordinator of Katsina State ACReSAL, commended the club’s proactive approach to environmental issues and encouraged them to implement eco-friendly practices within their school and broader community.
He recognized the potential positive impact of the visit in nurturing environmental stewardship among the youth.
Highlighting the significance of knowledge sharing and practical application, Alhaji Halliru Mohammed applauded the club’s leadership and emphasized the pivotal role of youth in fostering a resilient and environmentally conscious society.
The visit concluded with the exchange of environmental promotion materials to the college’s Environmental and Sanitation Club,
