Kano Govt Inaugurates N15bn Three-Layer bridge project

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated the construction of a N15 billion three-layer interchange bridge project at Kofar Dan’agundi in the heart of Kano metropolis.

Speaking during the ceremony at the project site recently Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming the city centre into a bustling mega city.

The project, awarded in December 2023 with a completion timeline of eighteen months, aims to address the persistent traffic congestion issues in the area.

Highlighting the significance of the project, the governor emphasized the importance of adhering to safety regulations and urged motorists to cooperate to ensure the smooth implementation of the infrastructure upgrade.

Project manager of CGC Nigeria Limited, Mr. Gee Wang, assured stakeholders that the construction would proceed according to schedule, providing relief to commuters grappling with traffic challenges.

In a separate development, Governor Yusuf directed the prompt settlement of outstanding allowances owed to street sweepers in the state.

He conveyed this instruction during a meeting with representatives of the sweepers at the Government House in Kano, underscoring his administration’s commitment to supporting casual workers and ensuring their livelihoods.

Dispelling rumours of impending dismissals, Governor Yusuf reassured the sweepers that there were no plans to terminate their employment, emphasizing his commitment to upholding their rights and welfare.
